Getting Started
Observer makes it simple to set up and manage your status pages, so you can start delivering transparency and reliability to your customers from day one. Follow this guide to get up and running in just a few steps. If you don't have an account, you can create one now .
1. Define Your Metrics
Observer integrates seamlessly with Prometheus to display real-time data. Define the metrics you want to monitor by connecting your Prometheus server or importing existing metrics definitions.
Navigate to the Metric Definitions section. Add or import metrics you want to track on your status page. Customize how each metric is displayed.
2. Start Your Agent
The Observer Agent bridges the gap between your Prometheus metrics and your status page.
Download the Observer Agent from the Downloads section in your dashboard. Configure the agent to point to your Prometheus instance. Start the agent and verify the connection in your Observer dashboard.
Tip: You can run multiple agents to collect metrics from various sources.
3. Design Your Status Page
Make your status page truly yours with customizable design options.
Choose a template or start with a blank page. Add sections, brand logos, and select metrics to display. Configure advanced settings like password protection or IP allowlisting (if applicable).
4. Share Your Status Page
Once your status page is ready, it’s time to make it live.
Assign a custom domain or use Observer's default subdomain. Share the status page URL with your audience. Use the Webhooks feature to automatically send updates to relevant channels.
